Terms of Service for Frostburn
Effective Date: October 13, 2026
Welcome to frostburn.org. By accessing our website or participating in Frostburn, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use our services or attend our events.
1. The Nature of Frostburn
Frostburn is a regional event inspired by the Burning Man culture, held outdoors during winter weather conditions.
Radical Self-Reliance: You acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your own survival, shelter, food, water, and cold-weather safety while on the tundra.
Volunteering: Frostburn is a 100% volunteer-run event. Community participation is required to keep our event safe and functioning.
2. Ticketing, Purchases, & Refunds
Transactions: All ticket and wood sales processed through our website are secured via our third-party payment processors (Stripe and Square).
Refund Policy: Unless explicitly stated otherwise by Frostburn leadership, all event ticket sales are final, non-refundable, and cannot be canceled, regardless of extreme winter weather conditions.
3. Absolute Assumption of Risk & Liability Waivers
Inherent Risks: You acknowledge that attending an outdoor winter camping event involves severe inherent risks, including but not limited to hypothermia, frostbite, burns from open fires, uneven terrain, and environmental hazards.
Mandatory Waiver: Access to the physical event space is strictly conditional upon signing a formal Liability Waiver and Release. If you refuse to sign the waiver upon arrival at Marvin's Mountaintop, you will be denied entry without a refund.
4. Code of Conduct & Event Eviction
We expect all participants to respect the Burning Man 10 Principles, local laws, and community safety guidelines. We reserve the absolute right to revoke ticket privileges, deny entry, or evict any individual from the event premises without a refund if their behavior:
Endangers the physical safety of themselves or other community members.
Violates our active safety, health, or community policies.
Engages in theft, destruction of art, or unauthorized commercial enterprise.
5. Third-Party Links & Integrations
Our website integrates with external platforms like Volunteeripate, Mailchimp, Stripe, and Square to coordinate operations. We do not control these external services and are not responsible for their operational uptime, distinct terms, or platform errors.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Frostburn organizers, volunteers, and property owners shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, injuries, financial loss, or property damage resulting from your use of this website or your attendance at the event.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to align with legal updates or changing event logistics. Your continued use of the website or attendance at the event after an update establishes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
8. Contact Us
